Biography
José Manuel Rigueiro (Barcelona, ​​1966) has been appointed new director general of the Spanish affiliate Actelion Pharmaceuticals Spain, Swiss pharmaceutical company leader in orphan products related to pulmonary arterial hypertension, Nieman Pick upset and Gaucher disease among others. Rigueiro has a degree in Biology (Biochemistry) from the University of Barcelona, ​​a Master's degree in Marketing from ESADE, AMP from Insead and PDD from IESE. He has successfully developed his entire career in the pharmaceutical industry and clinical diagnostics, in sales, marketing and business development functions, working in multinational companies such as Organon España, Almirall, Shering-Plow Pharma and Merck Sharp & Dohme. Prior to joining Actelion's team he was Managing Director for Spain and Portugal Hospira (Abbot spin off for hospital products).
