Biography
Dr Cabero received his Doctor of Medical Science degree from Uppsala University (Sweden) and is a graduate of the Advanced Management Programme, Harvard Business School (USA). He spent most of his career in Sweden, where he has held various positions at Astra and AstraZeneca Gastrointestinal and Cardiovascular R&D Organisations. As a Vice President, at AstraZeneca, he played a leading, instrumental role in the creation of Albireo, a spin-out raising €25 million from major international investors. After moving to Spain in late 2008, he has mostly focused on vaccine and immunotherapy development. Previous to his appointment at AELIX, he served as CEO of Archivel Farma and Algenex (Alternative Gene Expression) as well as Chief Innovation Officer at LETI. In addition to his engagement at AELIX, he fosters entrepreneurship in life sciences acting as a mentor or advisor to other companies or institutions.
