Biography

José María Saz Díaz is Associate Professor of Analytical Chemistry at the University of Alcalá, in Alcalá de Henares (Madrid, Spain). He developed his Doctoral Thesis at the C.S.I.C. of Spain and received his Ph. D. in Chemistry from the University of Alcalá in 1990. His research activity has been focused in the analysis of compounds of environmental, food and pharmaceutical interest by HPLC and CE. He has been working in the separation and physicochemical characterization of dihydropyridines, polychlorinated biphenyls and proteins by HPLC and CE. He has also been working in new and sensitive detection schemes for CE. He is currently centred in food analysis. He is co-author of about 20 scientific articles.

Research Interest

Techniques of (micro) separation, Analytical applications of new nanoadditives in capillary electromigration techniques, Development of analytical methodologies of chiral separation by capillary electromigration techniques applied to the determination of compounds of pharmacological, alimentary, cosmetic and environmental interest, Determination of amino acids, peptides and proteins by HPLC, micro / nano-HPLC and Capillary Electrophoresis, Proposed new markers of quality and safety in food.
