Biography
Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1977). She continued her training in the United States, with a Research Scholarship at the National Eye Institute (Bethesda, Maryland). She continued her curriculum as a Fellow in Ocular Pathology at the Laboratory of the Wilmer Eye Institute (Baltimore), as an Intern in Medicine at the Sinai Hospital of Baltimore, and from 1984 to 1987 trained as a medical resident in Ophthalmology at the Massachusetts Eye & Ear Infirmary (Boston). She then became a Cornea Fellow for two years at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute (Miami), and settled in Turin (Italy) in late 1989.
