Biography
Vadim Frolov earned his MS in applied physics and mathematics in 1993, from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, and his PhD degree in biophysics in 1997, from Moscow State University. Subsequently (1998-2004) he worked as researcher, senior researcher and group leader in A.N. Frumkin Institute of Electrochemistry, Moscow, followed by senior research fellow position at the National Institutes of Health, Bethesda, USA (2005-2008) and Ikerbasque research professor position at the Biophysics Unit (CSIC, UPV/EHU), Leioa, Spain (2009-present).
Research Interest
His research is focused on nanomechanics of cellular and biomimetic membrane systems, mechanisms of membrane remodeling by proteins and development of novel experimental approaches for studying cellular membranes at nanoscale.
