Biography
Dr. Mercedes Barrio Castellanos holds a degree in Medicine from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2002). Training as an internal resident doctor (MIR) in Ophthalmology at the San Carlos Clinical Hospital in Madrid and a specialist in Ophthalmology (2008). Doctor in Outstanding Medicine Cum Laude, Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2013). She has practiced in Public Health, mainly hospitable, being an Area Specialist in the Ophthalmology Service of the General University Hospital of Ciudad Real (HGUCR), working in the Section of Cornea and Glaucoma. Tutor responsible for postgraduate teaching in ophthalmology of the MIR in Family and Community Medicine in the HGUCR since 2008 and continues. Main areas of clinical interest: corneal pathology and ocular inflammation and glaucoma. Responsible for the Tissue Bank for ophthalmological use of HGUCR, as well as the processing and preservation of amniotic membrane in the HGUCR tissue bank (since 2008 and continues).
