Biography
Graduated in Pharmacy by the University of Valencia with the qualification of extraordinary prize, and PhD in Pharmacy by the University of Valencia with the qualification of extraordinary prize in Health Sciences. His doctoral thesis was "Molecular and cellular mechanisms involved in the mouse airbag model induced by zymosan. Mechanistic study of new anti-inflammatory agents ". He continued his research at the Federico II University of Naples as a MECD postdoctoral fellow and joined UCLM as Researcher Ramón y Cajal in December 2004. Since 2007 he taught at the Faculty of Medicine and since 2012 in the Faculty of Pharmacy of the UCLM, first as Professor Contractor-Doctor and, currently, as Professor of the University. In 2010 he was hired by the University of Castilla-La Mancha to be part of the teaching staff of the Faculty of Pharmacy, as Professor Contracted Doctor. His teaching work is combined with the research work carried out in the research group called Associated Unit Neurodeath CSIC-UCLM, which is aimed at elucidating the molecular mechanisms involved in neuronal death, and the identification of new pharmacological targets in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
