Biography

Dr. Jesús Martín Fernández did his undergraduate studies in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Valladolid. Subsequently the period of MIR training in the Hospital Universitario Marques de Valdecilla de Santander in the specialty of General Surgery and the Digestive System. He completed doctoral studies and reading the thesis at the University of Cantabria (Doctor in Medicine and Surgery) and also completed a Master's Degree in Clinical Management and Medical Management at the UNED / National School of Health. He has participated in the MIR training of his specialty since 1994, being since 2005 Tutor MIR. He has taught doctorate courses at the University of Cantabria and at the University of Cordoba. He held the position of Coordinator of the Major Outpatient Surgery Unit and since 2005 is Head of the General Surgery Service and the Digestive Appeal of the General University Hospital of Ciudad Real. He has participated in several funded research projects and is the author or co-author of numerous articles in national and international journals, as well as several book chapters.
