Luis Calahorra Fernández

Biography

Luis Calahorra Fernández did his undergraduate studies in Medicine and Surgery at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1988). He obtained his bachelor's degree through a thesis (1998) and the researcher's degree in that University (1993). He obtained a place for the MIR training at the University Hospital on October 12, Madrid, in the specialty of Urology (1995). Since 1996 he has practiced as a urologist in Ciudad Real, initially in the Hospital Complex and since 2006 in the General Hospital. Between 2004 and 2012 he combined the assistance work in the specialty of Urology with the position of Quality Coordinator of the Hospital. During this period he participated very actively in the management of the hospital, acquiring training in aspects related to the management, quality of care and patient safety. He has participated in the MIR training of Family Medicine since 1996 and for three years in his specialty. He has collaborated in the undergraduate training in the Faculty of Nursing in the subject of pharmacology and in Medicine in the subject of semiology. He has given several training courses on Quality Assurance and Patient Safety. He has participated in funded research projects.
