Biography

Computer Engineer from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia (1992), graduated in Archeology from the Rovira i Virgili University (URV) (2000) and a PhD in Archeology from the University of Lleida (UdL) (2005). Currently, he distributes his time as a lecturer at the URV, within the Department of Geography and History, and as a researcher at the Catalan Institute of Classical Archeology (ICAC). In this institution it is linked to the project on the planimetry of the Roman city of Tarragona. At the URV, during the period 2001-2002, he carried out the scientific co-direction of the European Simulacra Romae project, with the participation of the URV, the UdL, the University of Córdoba, the Arquelogia Institute of Merida (CSIC), the Unit of Archeology of the University of Minho, and the Sovrintendenza dei Fori Imperali of Rome. In the same period he developed with the URV and the Museum of History of Tarragona the archaeological chart of the Lower part of Tarragona. Among other works he has developed the website of the Archeology Service of Lleida and has participated in the excavations of the Forum of the Colony of Tarragona (2003-2004) and of the Forum of Rome (2001), and in the elaboration of the Tarraco model of the second century (2005). He is currently working on the following research projects: "Rome and the provincial capitals of Hispania (HAR2009-14314-C03-01)", "The Egyptian city in classical times: The organization of space in Hellenized Egypt (HAR2008-01623)" and "Comprehensive rehabilitation plan of the historical center of Cusco (Peru)" Spanish Agency of International Cooperation (AECI: 12.103.143-796.02).
