Josep Maria Macias Solé

Biography

Doctor in Geography and History from the University of Barcelona (1999). His scientific research has focused on the territory and the city of Tarragona, from the classical period to the Middle Ages, with an investigation focused on urban planning and architecture, ceramics and elaboration of multimedia content for the documentation and dissemination of Historical Heritage. It has extensive experience of field fruit of private activity (Codex, Archeology and Heritage, years 1993-03-2002). Researcher hired by the Catalan Institute of Classical Archeology (2003) and senior researcher since 2009. He is currently coordinator of the Tarraco program (the Archeology research line of the old city) and the work team of Christian Archeology and Late Antiquity (SGR MIRMED-GIAC -ICAC / URV / UAB-, no. 20141197). Teaching collaborator of the Master's Degree in Archeology (URV / UAB / ICAC) and in other institutions (ETSA / URV and INSAF / FTC). Member of the ARCHCRA (Research Group on Architectural Heritage and Archeology).
