Biography
Ana María López Sala , is a Doctor in Sociology and Senior Scientist at the Institute of Economics, Geography and Demography of the CSIC. His research interests have focused on the study of the political dimensions of international migration. Over the last few years he has worked on policies to control migratory flows, migrations and borders, irregular immigration and trafficking in persons. She is the author of Immigrants and States: the political response to the migration issue (link is external) (Anthropos, 2005) and Migrations and borders: New contours of international mobility (link is external) l (link is external)(along with Maru Anguiano) (Icaria-Cidob, 2010). She was a researcher at the Institute of Migration Studies of the UPCO, member of the Committee of Experts on Population and Immigration of the Government of the Canary Islands and the Research Network on Asian Communities (RICAE). He is currently part of the Group of Experts on International Migration (GEMI) of the UCM and the LINET network ( Independent Network of Labor Migration and Integration Experts , IOM and EC). In 2010 he was Resident Research Fellow of the Bellagio Program of the Rockefeller Foundation. He is currently part of the project team " Two Borders (link is external) " (in collaboration with the University of San Diego) and the " Transnational Immigrant Organization Network " (link is external) of Princeton University. He also directs the research "Transnational activities and co-development of Colombian, Peruvian and Dominican immigrant organizations in Spain" (funded by the Carolina Foundation, CEALCI) and "Towards new formulas for immigration management in Spain." Procurement programs at source, partnerships of mobility and migratory circularity "( Circular Project ) (Ministry of Science and Innovation, National Plan). He recently directed the International Migration and Security seminar .
