Biography
Carlos Cañete has a PhD in History from the University of Málaga (2009). He is currently a doctor hired Juan de la Cierva in the ILC-CCHS. He has previously worked at the School of Arab Studies of the CSIC (2006-2008) and has completed a research stay at the Mohammed V University of Rabat (2004-2006). His research focuses on the historiography of cultural representations of Africa and the Mediterranean, the intellectual history of the stories about the origin of humanity, the analysis of Orientalist discourse and postcolonial studies.
