Current professional situation: Professor of Research of the Higher Council for Scientific Research (CSIC) since 2008. Academic background and professional experience: Bachelor of History, specializing in Ancient History, from the Complutense University of Madrid (1984). Doctorate studies at the Università degli Studi 'La Sapienza' (Rome), in 1984-1987. Doctor's degree from the Complutense University of Madrid (1987). Full Professor at the University of Murcia (1989-1995). Senior Scientist of the CSIC (1995-2006). Scientific Researcher of the CSIC (2006-2008).
