Biography
With a university education in political science and a master's degree in comparative politics, Vincenzo Pavone holds a PhD in political and social sciences from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. His doctoral thesis studied the impact of scientific humanism on the creation, development and programs of UNESCO. Initially professor of comparative politics and international relations at the Center for Arts and Sciences (MCAS) of Syracuse, Italy, Vincenzo Pavone was incorporated as a postdoctoral researcher with an I3P contract at the IPP in 2006. In the IPP, he has developed a line of critical research in the area of ​​social studies of science and technology (CTS). His research interests have focused on the political and social implications of some emerging technologies, such as surveillance-oriented security technologies, transgenic technologies and assisted reproduction technologies. Always focusing on the complex relationship between science, technology and politics, Vincenzo has recently developed a new line of research on the relationship between neoliberalism and bioeconomies.
