Juan Luis Vázquez Rentería

Biography

Juan Luis Vázquez Rentería started his studies at the University of Guanajuato, Mexico, where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry in 2011. Afterwards, he moved to Barcelona where he obtained a Master in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Barcelona in 2013. His research was focused on the characterization and differentiation of iPS cells to study a model of Haemophilia under the direction of Dr. Angel Raya at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC). Currently Juan Luis is working on his Biomedicine PhD project focused on the modeling of cardiac hypertrophy from patient specific iPS cells, which he started at the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) in 2013. In July 2015, he moved to the Center of Regenerative Medicine in Barcelona (CMR[B]), to continue his project under the direction of Dr. Angel Raya.
