Biography
After finishing his bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology from the Polytechnic University of Valencia in 2014, he spent six months as an ERASMUS internship fellow working in the synthetic biology department in The Sainsbury Laboratory (Norwich, UK). Afterwards, he enrolled at the international iGEM 2015 competition as a member of the UPV Valencia team. He continued his studies and obtained a Master’s degree in Biomedicine from the University of Barcelona in 2016. Currently, Rubén is working on his PhD Project focused on the modelling of cardiomyopathies from patient-specific iPS cells and the CRISPR system under the direction of Dr. Angel Raya.
Research Interest
His research was focused in the generation of a fluorescent reporter iPSCs line by the CRISPR/Cas9 genome editing tool
