Biography
Bachelor's degree (1991) and PhD (1994) in Biological Sciences by the University of Navarra and Master's Degree in Molecular Biology and Biotechnology (1993) Currently Researcher responsible for the Laboratory of Pediatrics at the University of Navarra Clinic (CUN), Director of the Clinical Genetics Unit and co-director of the Laboratory 1.05 of Constitutional Pathology and Solid Tumors of CIMA LAB Diagnostics. She is also Director of the Biomedical Research Itinerary of the Faculty of Medicine since 2008 and Director of the Research Training Unit of the Faculty of Medicine since 2012. Accredited in Human Genetics by the Spanish Association of Human Genetics (AEGH). Member of the Board of the Department of Pediatrics of the University of Navarra Clinic since January 2015. Member of the Integral Diagnosis Commission on Oncology of the University of Navarra Clinic since February 2015. Research Areas It has the positive evaluation of the Research Activity by the National Evaluation Commission of the 1995-2000, 2001-2006 and 2007-2012 stretches. Since 1995 he has led a research group focused on the study of children and adolescent sarcomas and has obtained funding in 31 research projects in national and international calls: FIS, MEC, Government of Navarre), Sarcoma Foundation of America, Cancer Foundation of the Joing Research Board of St. Bartholomew's Hospital, AECC, Alicia Koplowitz Foundation, La Caixa Foundation, CAN Foundation, etc. She is the lead investigator of a clinical trial on immunotherapy in advanced tumors of children and young adults. ACTIVITY As a teacher Since 2009 Professor Titular of Genetics and Aggregate ad honorem of Pediatrics. Since May 2015, accredited as Professor of Genetics by ANECA. At present he is responsible for the subjects of the Biomedical Research Itinerary of the Medicine Degree, of the subject "Cellular and Molecular Biology of Cancer" and "New Technologies of Diagnosis and Analysis in Cancer", of the Master of Biomedical Research of the Faculty of Sciences and of "Techniques of Quantification in Clinical Analysis" of the Master of Biomedical Engineering. She is also director of the Research Training Unit of the Faculty of Medicine since 2012. As researcher Author of more than 90 scientific articles, 185 communications to congresses and numerous doctoral theses, both defended and in progress, Master projects and End of Degree works. More than half of his works are published in magazines that occupy the first quartile of its category. The cumulative impact factor is 306 and the total citations received are 995. The h-index is 22.
Research Interest
Study, at all levels of bone tumors of children, for the identification of risk factors and identification of new therapeutic targets or new treatments. Clinical Genetics and support to the research and care activity of other groups and services through the development of molecular biology techniques that support their projects.
