Biography
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Navarra in 1993. Specialist in Medical Oncology at the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid in 1997. Stay at The Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York in 1997. Adjunct physician in Medical Oncology at the Medical Oncology Service of the Ramón y Cajal University Hospital in Madrid from 1998 to 2008. From 2009 to 2017 he has been head of the Medical Oncology Department of the MD Anderson Cancer Center. Since September 2017 he is co-director of the Department of Medical Oncology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Research Areas He has participated as a principal investigator in more than 50 clinical trials and as a co-investigator in more than 40 clinical trials, mostly on breast cancer and gynecological cancer. He has also participated in the Steering Committe of several clinical trials of which they are currently active: PRIMA and PAOLA-1. In addition, he has worked as a collaborative researcher on several funded research projects. Dr. González is the president of the Spanish Ovarian Cancer Group (GEICO), a scientific association for clinical and translational research on gynecological cancer and especially ovarian cancer. He is also the GEICO representative at the European Network for Gynecological Oncologycal Trials (ENGOT) and Gynecologic Cancer InterGroup (GCIG); As a teacher Associate professor and coordinator of the Oncology course at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria in Madrid from the year 2015 to the present. Associate Professor at the University of Texas in the years 2015-2017. As researcher Dr. Gonzalez has published 90 papers in the most prestigious journals in the specialty, including some high impact publications in clinical practice in Lancet Oncology, Journal of Clinical Oncology and New England Journal of Medicine; He has also presented more than 200 papers and presentations at national and international congresses. She has written more than 20 chapters on gynecological cancer, breast cancer and genitourinary cancer in books and national and international manuals. He is a member of the Editorial Committee of the journal "Clinical and Translational Oncology" since 2007 and co-director of the "Revista de Ginecología Oncológica". He has been co-responsible for the organization of MD Anderson's Intercultural Gynecological Symposium in Madrid and member of the Scientific Committee of the bi-annual "Update in Ovarian Cancer" Symposium. He has been a member of the board of directors of the Spanish Society of Medical Oncology (SEOM). In addition, she is a member of GEICAM and SOLTI cooperative breast cancer groups.
