Biography
Graduated in Medicine and Surgery from the University of the Basque Country (1994) and PhD in Medicine from the University of Navarra (2008). Specialist in Pulmonology at the Hospital de Cruces, Vizcaya, in 1998. He held a postdoctoral post as Research Fellow at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore (USA) (2008-10). European Respiratory Medicine Diploma by the European Respiratory Society (2009). Master in Design and Statistics in Health Sciences from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (2004). Master's Degree in Pulmonary Hypertension at the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (2011). Master in Pulmonary Vascular Diseases, University of Bologna, Italy (2012). He joined the University of Navarra Clinic in 2000, where he is currently a Clinical Consultant. Research Areas Investigador principal en el ensayo clínico de células madre mesenquimales para el tratamiento de fibrosis pulmonar idiopática (CMM/FPI) EC11/064. He has collaborated as a researcher on 3 projects funded by the Carlos III Institute in relation to lung cancer and in Boston Scientific's NECTAR-1109 (Neural Cardiac Therapy for Heart Failure).

Study of the diagnosis and treatment of pulmonary hypertension and pulmonary embolism. Study of the diagnosis and treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and other interstitial lung diseases. Study of the diagnosis and treatment of respiratory diseases associated with obesity.
