Biography
Graduated in Biology from the University of Navarra in 1996. She completed the doctoral thesis focused on Immunotherapy of cancer, under the direction of Drs. Francisco Borrás-Cuesta and Juan José Lasarte in the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Navarra. He received his doctorate in Biological Sciences at the same University in 2001. After a year as a postdoctoral fellow in the same Department he was incorporated as Research Collaborator to the Immunotherapy Laboratory of the Oncology Area of ​​the CIMA and to the Cell Therapy Area of ​​the Clinic. At the moment it develops its activity in the Area of ​​Cell Therapy of the Clinic University of Navarre. Research Areas Her research activity is focused on the development of new immunotherapy strategies for the treatment of cancer and autoimmune diseases such as multiple sclerosis. He has collaborated in 15 research projects and in the implementation and development of 6 clinical trials in the University of Navarra Clinic, all of them focused on the combination of standard treatment for each type of tumor (chemotherapy, radiotherapy and / or surgery) with immunotherapy strategies. As a teacher He has participated in the training of the students of the research itinerary who carry out the internships in the Immunotherapy laboratory of the CIMA, in the teaching of nursing specialization courses and in the co-direction of a research project of the Master of Biomedical Research. As researcher He has participated in more than 30 communications to national / international conferences, collaborated in the writing of 3 book chapters and in the publication of 40 articles in national and international journals.
Research Interest
Its activity focuses on the development of immunotherapy strategies in cancer (both solid tumors and haematological malignancies). It encompasses the production of immunotherapy treatments (dendritic cell vaccines, idiotypic vaccines, and autologous effector lymphocytes) under a quality system in a GMP laboratory accredited by the Spanish Agency of Medicine for the production of these treatments, as well as the design, start-up and development of clinical immunotherapy trials.
