Biography

    Graduate (1988) and Doctor (1994) in Medicine by the University of Navarra. Specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy by the University of Navarra Clinic. He completed his training with a fellowship in Hematology and Oncology at the University of Minnesota (1997)   Director of the Cell Therapy Area and co-director of the Hematology Service at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Research Areas Member of the editorial board of 15 national and international scientific journals. Evaluator for National Evaluation and Prospective Agency (ANEP) from 1999 to the present. Evaluator of the Junta de Andalucía from 2006 to the present. Expert Evaluator of Research Projects in the European Union from 2007 to the present. Coordinator of the Area of ​​Oncology and Hematology and member of the Internal Scientific Committee of the Institute of Sanitary Research of Navarre. Research Interest

 Study of the diagnosis and treatment of: Myelomas Chronic myeloproliferative syndromes Leukemias It develops a research program and clinical application in cell therapy with adult stem cells, promoting several lines of research, focused mainly on the use of stem cells for the treatment of cardiovascular, osteoarticular and immune diseases. At the same time, it maintains and develops a line of research in the mechanisms of epigenetic control in hematological malignancies and healthy stem cells, directed to investigate the role of these mechanisms in the regulation of autorrenovation and differentiation.
