Gabriel Reina González

Biography

    Graduated in Pharmacy from the University of Navarra (2001), after completing his third year at the University of Cardiff (UK) with an Erasmus scholarship, and PhD in Pharmacy from the University of Granada (2007).   Specialist in Microbiology and Parasitology after completing the residency at the Virgen de las Nieves University Hospital of Granada (2002-2006) and a stay at the National Microbiology Center (Majadahonda, Madrid).   Subsequently, he made a stay of HIV research in the Microbiology laboratory of the Hospital Universitario San Cecilio (Granada) for 8 months. Research Areas Its priority lines of research are: The evaluation of the effectiveness of the influenza vaccine The study of the susceptibility of Legionella spp to antibiotics and disinfectants, and the evaluation of diagnostic techniques in legionellosis. He has participated in 7 research projects.   ACTIVITY   As a teacher He is Associate Professor of Microbiology in different subjects of the Degrees of Medicine, Pharmacy, Sciences and Nursing of the University of Navarra. Professor of the Master's Degree in Biomedical Research at the University of Navarra. Academic Advisor of the Faculty of Pharmacy. As researcher He has participated in 7 research projects, published 16 articles in scientific journals and presented more than 70 papers in Congresses of Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases.   He is the author of more than 20 book chapters and has directed 4 master's / researcher's work and 5 graduate work.

Research Interest

 Study of viral and bacterial respiratory infections. Diagnosis of congenital cytomegalovirus infection. Genotypic resistance studies of hepatitis, HIV, CMV and influenza.
