Biography

    Graduate (1986) and Doctor (1998) in Medicine and Surgery at the Complutense University of Madrid. Specialist in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's Hospital, educational center at Case Western University in Cleveland (USA).   Performed the subspecialties of Pneumology and Intensive Medicine at the New England Medical Center, Tufts University Hospital, Boston (USA).   Training in Physiology of Sport by the University of Melbourne, Australia, 2013.   Director of the Department of Pulmonology of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra.   Codirector of the Lung Cancer Area of ​​the University of Navarra Clinic. Research Areas His main areas of research are the early detection of lung cancer and pulmonary emphysema, as well as the cause-effect relationship between the two diseases. He is a principal investigator in the I-ELCAP study, an international multicenter study of early detection of lung cancer using low-dose chest X-ray CT, which began in 2000 and has, to date, 60,000 individuals. ACTIVITY   As a teacher Associate Professor of the University of Navarra, accredited as Full Professor by the ANECA.   Professor of the subject Respiratory Diseases in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra.
