Biography

    Licentiate (1979) and Doctor (1985) in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Navarra. Specialist in Cardiology at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Medical specialist of the Department of Cardiology of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Specialist in Cardiac Image. Accredited as an expert in advanced echocardiography. He has been in the cardiology department since 1980. Consultant in the Cardiology Department since 1991. Director of the Echocardiography Laboratory since 1988. Chairman of the Clinical Histories Commission (1992-2003). Secretary of the Department of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery (1986-2000). Director of the Department of Cardiology (2000-2009). Member of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Commission since 2009. As a teacher   Lecturer in  Cardiology  at the University of Navarra. He has also participated as a teacher in national and international postgraduate courses. He has directed 14 doctoral theses. Director of the Greater Specialization Program in Echocardiography of the University of Navarra and of the Doctoral Program in Medicine of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra. Progressor of the Master of Transesophageal Echocardiography of the "Menéndez Pelayo" University  

Research Interest

 His main lines of research have been the search for new methods for evaluation of ventricular function and the characterization of myocardial function and tissue in arterial hypertension and heart failure.
