Biography
Graduated in Medicine by the University of Santiago de Compostela and Doctor (1985), with Extraordinary Prize of Doctorate, by the University of Navarra. Specialist in Internal Medicine at the University of Navarra Clinic. He completed his training in liver transplantation in the Division of Gastroenterology and Transplant Service of Presbyterian University Hospital of the University of Pittsburgh (USA). Director of the Department of Internal Medicine of the University of Navarra Clinic, co-director of the Department of Digestive Diseases and specialist of the Hepatology Unit. ACTIVITY As a teacher Professor of Medical Pathology , accredited by ANECA. He is also director of the doctoral program Gene Therapy and Hepatology of the University of Navarra. As researcher Author or co-author of 15 chapters in books, 28 articles in national journals and 79 articles in international journals.
Research Interest
His main research areas are hepatic cirrhosis and liver transplantation. He has directed 12 doctoral theses.
