José Luis Zubieta Zárraga

Biography

    Graduate (1974) and Doctor (1993) in Medicine and Surgery by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra. Specialist in Neurology and Radiodiagnosis. He has held specific training stays at the Center Hospitalier Purpan in Toulouse (France) and at the San Francisco de Asís Clinic (Madrid). He founded the Neuroradiology Unit in 1980, of which he has been its director ever since. Title of European Qualification in Neuroradiology.   From 2006 to 2015 he has been Director of the Radiodiagnostic Service of the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Research Areas Principal investigator in 2 research projects and collaborator in 25 projects in various phases of realization.   ACTIVITY   As a teacher Associate Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra (1977-1996)   Assistant Professor (Professor Contracted Doctor) since 1996   Professor responsible for the Core Course "Clinical Radiology II" (3 ECTS) in the 5th Course of Medicine Degree at the University of Navarra.   Professor of Elective Courses, Doctorate Courses and Masters in Neuropathology of the Faculty of Medicine.   Director of 4 Doctoral Theses and member of the Court in 25 Theses in several Universities.

Research Interest

 General neuroradiological diagnosis using all existing imaging techniques, including the most advanced diagnostic techniques. Development in the characterization of primary and / or secondary brain tumors using diffusion, perfusion, diffusion-tensor (tractography) techniques and spectroscopy. Correlation between magnetic resonance and PET-CT studies. Characterization of inflammatory, demyelinating and metabolic processes. Neurodegenerative processes: differential diagnosis by the image. Correlation between magnetic resonance and PET-CT studies. Contribution of ASL techniques to ischemic and tumor processes.
