Biography
Graduated in Medicine from the University of Cantabria (1985) and Doctor from the University of Navarra (1992). Specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapy at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. He completed a training stay at the Hemopoietic Transplantation Unit at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is responsible for the Hemopoietic Transplantation Unit and the Clinical Trials Unit of Hematology of the University of Navarra Clinic and director of the Blood Bank of the Clinic. Research Areas His areas of research are: Acute leukemia and chronic myeloproliferative syndromes. Transplantation of hematopoietic progenitors. ACTIVITY As a teacher He is associate professor of the subject Hematology and has directed 4 doctoral theses. He is tutor of Practical Clinic of students of 2nd cycle of Medicine and tutor of residents of Hematology. He is professor of the specialties of Internal Medicine and Oncology of the Faculty of Nursing of the University of Navarra. As researcher Author of 6 chapters of books of the specialty. He has written more than 50 articles in national and international scientific journals.

His areas of interest are: Diagnosis and treatment of leukemia. Myelodysplastic syndromes. Transplantation of hematopoietic progenitors.
