Josep Martí Climent

Biography

    Degree in Physical Sciences (1985) and Doctor (1990) by the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He completed the 'Superior Course of Radiological Protection' of the Center for Environmental and Technological Energetic Research. University Specialist in Radiological Protection in Medical Facilities by the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. The Nuclear Safety Council granted him the title of Head of Radiation Protection Service and in 1999 the Ministry of Education and Science recognized the Specialty of Hospital Radiophysics. He completed his training at the University of Ulm (Germany) and the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh (USA).   Member of the Nuclear Medicine Service of the Clinic and head of the Radiological Protection Unit. Research Areas He has participated in over 10 publicly funded research projects on competitive calls (2 of them as principal investigator). As a teacher Lecturer accredited by ANECA. Professor contracted doctor of Nuclear Medicine and Radiological Protection in the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra.   He is responsible professor of the subject Great diagnostic and therapeutic equipments in medicine of the Master in Biomedical Engineering. He has been director and professor in 10 training courses for operators of radioactive and radiodiagnostic installations and in 3 of Radiodiagnostic Directors.   He is also director of the Continuing Training Course in Nuclear Medicine Physics and Instrumentation . As researcher He has published more than 50 articles, of which 35 have been in indexed journals. He is editor of 2 books, and co-author of 3 others, has written 16 chapters in books and has more than 200 communications to national and international congresses.

Research Interest

 The assistance and research activity develops in the areas of radiophysics and radiation protection, being of special interest: Optimization and image analysis in Nuclear Medicine and PET. Quality control of the equipment. Radiation protection and dosimetry in a PET installation.
