Biography
Graduated in Medicine (1978) and Doctor (1979) in Medicine by the University of Navarra. Specialist in Clinical Neurophysiology and Neurology. He completed his training at the Hôpital de Sainte Anne. Université Cochine-Port Royal of Paris. Director of the Department of Clinical Neurophysiology, today. Director of the Department of Neurology and Neurosurgery of the Clinic University of Navarra, during the years 1993-2000. Research Areas Director of the Division of Neurosciences of the Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) of the University of Navarra. His research has focused on the physiology and pathophysiology of Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders such as myoclonus. In recent years he has been interested in the role of oscillatory brain activity in the processing of information at the brain level and its role in various neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease or psychiatric diseases such as schizophrenia. ACTIVITY As a teacher Professor of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra. Director of the Doctoral Program and the Master of Neuroscience and Cognition of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra. Vicedecan of the Faculty of Medicine during the years 2003-2009 He teaches the subjects of Neuroscience (2nd Medicine) and Clinical Neurophysiology (optional Medicine) and the following courses in the program of Master of Neuroscience and Cognition: Fundamental and Clinical Neurophysiology, Neurosciences Current Topics. As researcher He has published 4 books and 9 monographs in magazines. He is the author of more than 150 articles in national and international magazines and more than 40 chapters in books. He has won 13 awards for articles or scientific papers
