Luis Chiva De Agustín

Biography

 training AND TRAJECTORY Graduate (1986) and Doctor of Medicine (2000) from the Autonomous University of Madrid. He performed the specialty of Gynecology at the La Paz Hospital in Madrid (1988-1991). In 1994, he completed a fellowship in Gynecology Oncology at Rush Presbyterian St. Lukes' Medical Center in Chicago and later worked at the Oncology Gynecology Service of the Gregorio Marañón Hospital between 1995 and 2002. For the last 14 years he has been director of the Oncology Gynecology Department of the MD Anderson Center in Madrid, where he was responsible for the area of ​​Surgical Oncology between 2008 and 2010. Research Interest: Treatment of Sterility without Embryonic Manipulation Naprotechnology (Natural Procreation Technology) Surgery in advanced ovarian cancer Hereditary cancer of woman Preservation of fertility in female cancer Models of teaching in Surgical anatomy for gynecologists In addition, he has participated in more than 25 clinical trials related to Oncology Gynecology. ACTIVITY   As a teacher Associate Professor in Gynecology and Obstetrics of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Professor of the Department of Gynecology at the University of Texas since 2005. Professor of Surgical Oncology at the Universidad Francisco de Vitoria since 2014. In recent years he has been the Director of the Teaching Commission and a member of the Research Commission of MD Anderson. Professor Extraordinary of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra since December 2016. As researcher Member of the Scientific Committee of the American Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) and sole Spanish member of the Quality Assessment Committee in Ovarian Cancer Surgery of the European Oncology Gynecology Society (ESGO). Member of the Scientific Committee of the Spanish Society of Gynecology and Obstetrics (SEGO). Research activity: Founder and editor-in-chief of the journal "Oncology Gynecology: A Multidisciplinary Approach". He has published more than 100 papers in national and international journals and has been invited as a speaker on more than 200 occasions. He has written 21 book chapters and organized 39 congresses.
