Biography
She holds a degree in Medicine and Surgery from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1991), a specialist in Psychiatry at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid, and a PhD in Medicine from the University of Alcalá with the thesis "MAO Platelet Activity and Personality in Disorders of eating behavior ". He has spent six months at Mount Sinai Hospital (New York, USA) under the supervision of Dr. Eric Hollander with the goal of training in Research Methodology in Impulsive Disorders. He was responsible for the Department of Child Psychiatry and the Eating Disorders Unit of the Hospital San Rafael in Madrid until 2000 and in 1999 directed the program of Psychiatry of Liaison and Interconsulence and the Program of Eating Disorders of the Jiménez Díaz Foundation. Since January 2004, she has worked as Director of the Early Intervention in Psychosis of Recent Start and Director of the Eating Disorders Unit (TCA) of the Hospital Clínico San Carlos in Madrid. Research Interest: His research activity has been developed in the study of Eating Disorders, Personality Disorders, Impulsive Disorders and Psychosis, focusing especially on biological markers (tests of serotonergic function, hypothalamic axis activity hypoimaging, inflammatory activity) and its relationship with symptomatic dimensions, personality traits and traumatic antecedents. Activity: As a teacher Associate Professor of Psychiatry at the Complutense University of Madrid since October 2005. He is accredited as a collaborating professor and professor contracted doctor by the Agency of Quality, Accreditation and Prospective of the universities of Madrid (ACAP), dated May 26, 2004. Since May 2016 he has been accredited professor of Psychiatry. She is an honorary professor at the CES University of Medellín (Colombia). As researcher He has published more than 30 articles in international impact journals, 70 articles in national journals, participated in 22 book chapters and presented more than 80 papers (30 international). She has been invited to more than 60 symposiums as rapporteur, 15 of them international, and more than 50 courses in different universities in Spain.
