Biography
Dr. Miguel Muñoz Navas graduated in Medicine from the University of Zaragoza in 1976. He completed his specialty in Internal Medicine and Digestive Medicine at the University of Navarra Clinic and received his doctorate in Medicine from the University of Navarra in 1980 with the qualification of Outstanding "cum laude". Since 1985 he has been director of the Endoscopy Unit of the Clinic and since 1998 Director of the Digestive Service. Research Areas His main areas of research are the early detection of colon cancer and esophageal adenocarcinoma and new technologies in digestive endoscopy. He is one of the principal investigators in European multicentric studies on the diagnostic utility of the endoscopic colon capsule. ACTIVITY As a teacher Adjunct Professor of Gastroenterology, Faculty of Medicine, University of Navarra. As researcher He has presented more than 550 papers and papers at national congresses and meetings and more than 250 international papers. He has also made more than 200 publications in Spanish and foreign journals. He is the author of 7 books, among which stand out: Atlas of Clinical Gastrointestinal Endoscopy , CM Wilcox, M. Muñoz-Navas, JJY. Sung. Saunders-Elsevier, Philadelphia 2007, which has been translated into 5 languages ​​and of which 3 editions have been published; and the Interventional and Therapeutic Gastrointestinal Endoscopy ", K. Monkemüller, M. Wilcox, Muñoz-Navas M, Karger (Basel, 2009). It organizes every year an international course of therapeutic digestive endoscopy, which is attended by doctors from all over the world.
