Biography
Bachelor and Doctor of Medicine with an extraordinary doctoral award. He trained as a specialist in pathological anatomy by opposition MIR at the Clinic of the University of Navarra. He has carried out several postdoctoral stays at the Department of Experimental Pathology, University of Zürich and ETH, and in the Division of Neuropathology at the University of Pittsburgh (UPMC). He has also performed predoctoral stays at the Pathology Department of the Royal Free Hospital of London and the Lennox Hill Hospital in New York. He was the first responsible and founder of the Toxicology and Experimental Pathology Service of the Center for Research in Applied Pharmacology of the University of Navarra. Director of the Pathological Anatomy Service of the University of Navarra Clinic until 2016 and Deputy Director of the Interfaculty of Pathology and Histology of the University of Navarra. Research Areas Author of more than 90 publications registered in the ISI system and more than 50 chapters of books. He is a member of commissions evaluating research projects of the ANEP and the Department of Health of the Basque Government. As a teacher Full Professor of Pathological Anatomy and Associate Professor of Pathological Anatomy, Faculty of Medicine, University of Navarra. He is also President of the Biobanco Scientific Commission of the University of Navarra.
Research Interest
He develops his research especially in neuroepithelial brain cancer and in melanoma, especially in the search for new prognostic and predictive markers.
