He has held stays at the University of Leicester (England) and at Harvard University (United States).   Specialist of the Laboratory of Biochemistry of the University of Navarra Clinic. Research Areas His lines of research have been developed in the following fields: Intravenous contrast induced nephropathy: comparative efficacy in preventing the application of an intravenous (IV) and oral hydration protocol. Comparative efficacy in the prevention of the application of an oral and iv hydration protocol; detection of early markers and deepening of the pathogenic mechanism by in vitro model. Risk factors, evolution and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and their molecular and cellular mechanisms. Integrating genomics, clinical research and care in hypertension.  Diabetic cardiomyopathy in patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus: clinical, echocardiographic and association with plasma markers involved in myocardial fibrosis. Study of the implication of PPAR alpha in the transition from left ventricular hypertrophy to heart failure in human and experimental hypertensive cardiopathy. Interaction between inflammatory and neurohormonal factors in heart failure. Carvedilol action on these factors and on the coronary reserve.
