    Degree in Medicine and Surgery from the University of Barcelona (1983).   Specialist in Anesthesiology and Reanimation (1987) with residence in the Hebron Valley Hospital of Barcelona.    Doctor of Medicine and Surgery, University of Navarra (1991).    Clinical Fellow (1995-96) at the Department of Anesthesiology at Beth Israel Hospital, Boston (USA).   Fellowship in Critical Care Medicine (1996-97) at UPMC (University of Pittsburgh Medical Center), Pittsburgh (USA).    European Diploma in Intensive Care Medicine (1998).    He has been working in the Clinic since 1988 as a specialist in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation with special dedication to the Adult Intensive Care Unit, of which he is director. Research Areas   Acute renal failure in ICU and after cardiac surgery. Prognostic scales in ICU. Safety and quality in ICU. Specialized medical training.   As a teacher Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra from 01-09-1988 to 31-01-2000.   Adjunct Professor in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra from 01-02-2000 to 30-09-2007.   Professor contracted doctor, accredited by the ANECA, in Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra from 01-10-2007 to 31-10-2010.   Adjunct Professor in Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra from 01-11-2010 to 09-30-2011.   Full Professor accredited by the ANECA in the Department of Anesthesiology and Reanimation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra from 01-10-2011 to the present.   Responsible for the seminar of Advanced Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra from 2005-2006 to the present.   Responsible for the course of Intensive Medicine and Emergency from the academic year 2013-2014 until today. As researcher Acute renal failure in ICU and after cardiac surgery: Promoter of the national research group: Spanish Renal Dysfunction in Cardiac Surgery Group = GEDRCC (Spanish Group of Renal Dysfunction in Cardiac Surgery).   Collaborator in national research projects: Sabadell Score Study Group.    Collaborator in 9 international research projects.   Three six years of research accredited by the National Evaluation Commission of Research Activity (CNEAI).
