Graduate (1985) and Doctor (1996) in Medicine and Surgery by the University of Navarra. Recognition of sufficiency for the development of research activities (1991), with outstanding qualification. Specialist doctor of Digestive Apparatus by the Clinic University of Navarra (1987-1990). He completed his training with a stay at the Center for Inflammatory Bowel Disease (The Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Cleveland, Ohio, USA). Medical consultant of the Service of Digestive Apparatus of the Clinic University of Navarra. ACTIVITY As a teacher Associate Professor of Medical Pathology (Digestive System). Professor in charge and coordinator of 5th year of the Faculty of Medicine. Lecturer in Clinical Practice VI (5th year) of the Faculty of Medicine. Tutor of the subject of Clinical Practice (4th, 5th and 6th courses of Medicine). Teaching during the Clinical Internships of the Clinical Practical course (4th, 5th and 6th courses) in the outpatient clinic and hospitalization plant. As researcher Participation as secondary investigator in six research projects, three of them on Inflammatory Bowel Disease.
Research Interest
Study of the usefulness of colonoscopy in the prevention of colorectal cancer. Incidence of premalignant colon lesions in asymptomatic patients. Role of oncogenes in colorectal carcinogenesis. Typing of helicobacter pylori subtypes in patients with gastroduodenal pathology. Inflammatory bowel disease: Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Functional digestive pathology: functional dyspepsia and irritable bowel syndrome.
