Biography
Graduated in Medicine from the Universidad Complutense de Madrid (1989). PhD in Medicine from the University of Navarra conducting the Doctoral Thesis on glioblastomas operated with fluorescence (2011). Specialist in Neurosurgery at the Ramón y Cajal Hospital in Madrid (1995). Consultant of the Department of Neurosurgery of the University of Navarra Clinic. Coordinator of the Brain Tumor Area. Research Areas He is currently investigating the treatment of brain tumors after fluorescence surgery, using immunotherapy and oncolytic viruses, currently open at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. ACTIVITY As a teacher Associate Professor at the University of Navarra. Professor accredited in fluorescence-guided brain tumor surgery. He has taught courses for neurosurgeons in Spain and Germany. As researcher Author of 10 articles in international journals, 6 chapters of books. He has presented 25 communications to congresses of the specialty.
Research Interest
His main areas of activity are neurooncology and spinal surgery. He has extensive experience in surgery of brain tumors with microsurgery, guide with navigator and surgery with awake patient. In spinal surgery he is a specialist in microsurgery and dynamic rachis stabilization techniques.
