Biography
Graduate (1986) and Doctor (1994) in Medicine and Surgery by the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra (1986). Member of the Medical Area of ​​the Board of Directors at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. He held stays at the research centers of New York Medical College, MD Anderson Cancer Center of Texas and House Ear Institute of Los Angeles. Specialist in the Department of Otorhinolaryngology of the University of Navarra Clinic and director of the Laboratory of Voice and Laryngeal Pathophysiology of this department where there are several lines of research in relation to voice and its disorders. It is also part of the Clinical Blisters Disease Unit. Research Areas Research lines: laryngeal pemphigus, professional voice, singing voice, infantile dysphonia and functional dysphonia. He has participated in several research projects as principal investigator and team member. He is currently a member of the project team (FIS - Intrasalud) funded by the Instituto de Salud Carlos III. ACTIVITY As a teacher Dean of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra. Full Professor, Faculty of Medicine, University of Navarra (Otorhinolaryngology and Evaluation of Scientific Evidence). Director of the Clinical Training Unit of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra. He collaborates as a professor in the Master's Neurosciences and Cognition of the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Navarra, in the Master's Phonics and Phonology that is taught in the Center of Human and Social Sciences of the CSIC and that depends on the Menéndez Pelayo University and in the University Master's Degree in Speech and Language Disorders at the Catholic University of Murcia. As researcher He has given more than 50 lectures and presentations and has presented more than 90 papers and posters, both in national and international congresses. He has directed 9 Doctoral Theses. He has published numerous articles in national and international specialized scientific journals and has participated in the elaboration of more than 20 book chapters.
