Enrique Bernárdez

Biography

"Enrique Bernárdez, professor of general linguistics. Degree in Philosophy and Letters, Section of Modern Philologies, Subsection of German Philology, in the UCM. Licensed in 1972, doctor in 1976. Since 1972 I have been professor of the UCM, since 1986, Catderático. My main stays abroad have been in The Netherlands (predoctoral), University of Kent (UK), as visiting professor; guest researcher at U. of California, Berkeley; and director of the Real Colegio Complutense at Harvard University. My fundamental research is now cognitive-cultural linguistics and linguistic metatheory. I have been working for years in Linguistics of the text and in Translation and Translation: apart from my publications, courses etc. on translation, I have published numerous translations, especially of the Icelandic (medieval and modern) and Danish languages.
