Biography
"I was born in 1987 in Tenerife, Canary Islands, Spain. In 2005 I began my undergraduate studies at the Universidad de La Laguna (ULL), Tenerife. My first contact with the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas (ICMAT) is during the summer of 2008 when I received a introductory research scholarship JAE-Intro granted by CSIC. In July 2009 I graduated in Mathematics. The same year I obtained a ""Teaching Certificate (CAP- Certificado de Aptitud pedagogíca)"" at the University Alfonso X el Sabio - Instituto Canario Superior de estudios doing the teaching practices in the high-school where I had studied. Also in 2009, I obtained a JAE-Predoc scholarship awarded by CSIC to do the Ph.D at the ICMAT. In 2010, I finished the Master of Mathematics and its Applications at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (UAM) with the master's thesis: ""Numerical studies on a convection problems with temperature-dependent viscosity"" supervised by Ana M. Mancho, who also advises my doctoral thesis. Since March 2012, I am Teaching Assistant in the Department of Mathematics at the Universidad Autónoma de Madrid. I am a member of the Instituto de Ciencias Matemáticas where recently I have been involved in the ""ICMAT Laboratory Stephen Wiggins"" working on the application of dynamical systems concepts to description of transport in geophysical flows."
Research Interest
Applied mathematics with particular focus in geophysical fluid dynamics, partial differential equations in fluid mechanics, numerical methods applied to those equations, instabilities, bifurcations, dynamical systems and chaotic advection.
