Research Interest
I am a marine biologist specialized in ecology and dynamics of planktonic stages of marine fishes. I have been studying spatial and temporal distribution patterns of ichthyoplankton in relation the hydrography and plankton in different seas and oceans of the world. My research skills include from taxonomy and systematics, to the assessment of larval nutritional condition and trophic ecology. Currently I am particularly interested in mesopelagic fishes (myctophids and stomiiforms), widening my field of work from larval to adult stages and trying to understand the role of these oceanic fishes in the fluxes of matter and energy in the water column.
