Biography
Joe’s early career was spent in product management and business development in the Wellcome Group, Pfizer and Ciba-Geigy in locations including London, Brussels, Nairobi and Hong Kong, culminating as Marketing Director at Ciba-Geigy Pharmaceuticals UK between 1981 and 1986. In 1986, he set up PPS Europe Limited, an international pre-launch medical education and publishing services provider to the Pharmaceutical industry, acting as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer. PPS Europe Ltd was sold to Parexel US in 1999, following which, Joe took the position of President of Medical Marketing Services for 2 years at Parexel and served as a Board Director of Parexel International. In 2002, Joe founded Road Angel Group, a consumer electronics business of which he was executive chairman through its sale in 2006. Since 2008, Joe has been an angel investor in SMEs in various sectors. Joe has a BSc in Physiology and Biochemistry from the University of Southampton. He has been a Director of the Company since June 2002. While Joe is a shareholder and option holder in the Company and has served on the Board for some years, based on his extensive experience, specialised industry knowledge and personal qualities, the Board consider him to be independent.
