Biography
Bill McGlashan is the Founder and Managing Partner of TPG Growth, and a member of TPG’s leadership committees. TPG Growth was founded in 2007 to specialize in growth equity and middle-market buyout opportunities. Taking a long-term and hands-on approach to partnership, TPG Growth identifies unique companies across the U.S., Asia, and Africa and helps them achieve their full potential. TPG Growth manages more than $7 billion in assets across a variety of sectors including media, technology and industrials. Prior to joining the firm in 2004, Mr. McGlashan served as Chairman and CEO of Critical Path, Inc., where he oversaw a major financial and operational restructuring of the company beginning in 2001. Mr. McGlashan previously co-founded and served as CEO of Vectis Group, a venture corporation that capitalized and built companies in emerging markets in partnership with leading U.S. technology businesses. Mr. McGlashan was a Co-Founder and President of Pharmanex, Inc., a leading phyto-pharmaceutical and dietary supplement company. Prior to that, Mr. McGlashan was a Senior Associate with Bain Capital, LLC and Information Partners. Mr. McGlashan is a co-founder and Director of STX Entertainment and Evolution Media. He serves as Chairman of the boards of Fender Musical Instruments and XOJet. He is a Director on the Boards of Creative Artists Agency, HotSchedules, e.l.f Cosmetics, Gavin de Becker & Associates and Ride. Mr. McGlashan’s current non-profit activities include board roles at Endeavor Global, Common Sense Media and Yale School of Management. Mr. McGlashan is an active member of the Young Presidents’ Organization and the World Economic Forum. Mr. McGlashan’s past board service includes Survey Monkey, Success Factors, Schiff Nutrition International, Vincraft, AgraQuest, David’s Bridal and WIL Research Laboratories. Bill earned a MBA from Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA with Honors from Yale University.
