Biography
Currently, Dr. Garcia-Pomar is involved in the project " Enlightment: Photonic electrodes for enhanced light matter interaction in optoelectronic devices" financed by the European Research Council. Previously, he worked as a postdoctoral fellow in the Optics Institute of Madrid (CSIC) in the group of Nonlinear Optics, and in the Nanophotonics group of Prof. Luis Martin Moreno from University of Zaragoza- ICMA (CSIC). He made a postdoctoral stay of more than 2 years in Germany in the group of Metamaterials and transformation optics of Jr. Prof. Marco Rahm in Fraunhofer Institute IPM of Kaiserslautern. He carried out his Phd. thesis with Prof. Manuel Nieto-Vesperinas at the Materials Science Institute of Madrid (CSIC).
Research Interest
The main research topics of Dr. Garcia-Pomar are theory and numerical simulation on electromagnetic metamaterials and 2-D photonic crystals, photonic analogues of graphene and plasmons in graphene. He is an expert in nano-photonics and he has carried out studies about coupling of atomic media with different electromagnetic structures.
