Biography
Paula Mayorga Burrezo studied Chemical Engineering at the University of Málaga, where she obtained her degree in 2011, followed by a PhD in Chemistry in 2015 under the supervision of Profs. J. T. López Navarrete and J. Casado.
Research Interest
Her PhD research, entitled "Vinylene-bridged aromatic oligomers: molecular spectroscopy in the p-electronic high-correlation limit” represented a largely interdisciplinary effort, involving several experimental characterization techniques (UV-Vis-NIR electronic absorption, Raman and IR spectroscopies as well as electrochemical measurements) together with theoretical DFT calculations. A variety of concepts in molecular design in Organic Electronics were afforded in her study, such as the analysis of electron transfer phenomena and mechanisms, which allowed the understanding of conductance of charge in different families of molecular wires.
