Biography
I have a Ph.D. in physics from the University of Seville, my research carried out at the Insitute of Materials Science of Seville (CSIC). I have been awarded with a Beckman Institute postdoctoral fellowship (Illinois, USA ), an ICFOnest research fellowship at ICFO (Barcelona, Spain), and the 2013-Martí Franqués Fellowship from the Rovira I Virgili University (Tarragona, Spain). I am currently a Ramon y Cajal Fellow at the Institute of Materials Science of Barcelona where I lead a team towards the development of new photonic architectures to improve the performance of optoelectronic devices.
Research Interest
My research relies in unconventional nanofabrication to produce photonic architectures with exciting optical properties easily incorporated into large area devices. We have the capabilities to design photonic nanostructures for each device type using current numerical simulation tools. We combine soft nanolithography, transfer printing and industry compatible fabrication approaches to integrate the architectures as part of the optoelectronic devices. Finally, we characterize optically and electrically the enhanced prototypes employing state of the art spectroscopic equipment. Photonic crystals, plasmonics, nanoimprinting lithography, solar cells, thin films and SERS
