Adolfo Nadal

Biography

Graduated from Universidad Politécnica de Madrid with Honors in 2005. Adolfo holds a Master of Science in Advanced Architectural Design (2009) and a Certificate in Advanced Architectural Research (2010) from GSAPP Columbia University in the City of New York. He is currently writing his P.h.D. Thesis “The self-organizing city” at the Computer Science Faculty of the Complutense University. He is Director of the Design, Research and Innovation Department at Arnaiz & Partners from 2010. Furthermore, he has actively participated in the development of numerous projects in collaboration with world-known engineering and architectural firms, such as the first EcoCity in Spain (Ove Arup & Partners), the winning proposal for the World Business Center in Busan -Korea, and the Construction of the Arnhem Central Station -the Netherlands (UNStudio van Berkel and Bos), or the “Water Trees” landscape-engineering project together with Toyo Ito & Associates. Adolfo is founder and director of archi[o]logics, a cross-professional platform for software and technology development applied to economically, socially and environmentally sustainable urban planning, architecture, and engineering. Archiologics is also a research hub currently involved in oversize 3d printing, including software and hardware development through robotics. His interests and capabilities cover a broad range of fields, from new design methodologies and custom software development to applied digital fabrication. Adolfo Nadal has been involved in teaching activities from early in his career, and has participated in many symposiums and workshops, held conferences and led courses in a variety of Educational Institutions and Universities, including Columbia University, UPenn, ETSAM, UE, University of Seville, and others.
