Biography
Professor Gotsopoulos received his PhD and MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business in 2009. Before joining IE Business School, he spent 2 years at the Boston University School of Management as a postdoctoral fellow. His research focuses on industry evolution, and in particular on the sociocognitive factors that affect entry timing and firm performance in emerging industries. His research has appeared in the Academy of Management Journal and the Academy of Management Best Paper Proceedings, has been featured in outlets such as the Wall Street Journal and Inc.com, and has received funding from major North American and European institutions. Prior to starting his PhD, he worked for the Bank of Cyprus in Athens served for a year as a sergeant in the Greek Army, and interned at a stock brokerage & securities firm.
