Biography
Diego Barajas is currently developing a Ph.D. at the ETSAM in Madrid on the topic of biodiversity and architecture. He obtained his M.Arch at the Berlage Institute in Rotterdam in Architecture and Urbanism. His final thesis “Dispersion” was published in 2003 (Episode Publishers) and is part of the permanent collection of the FRAC foundation in France. He has worked as senior architect in studios such as Herreros Arquitectos in Madrid and Scape Urban Planning in Rotterdam. Since 2003 Barajas is the co-founder of Husos together with Camilo García, a practice of architecture and urbanism. Husos has received numerous international distinctions. Their project GBHNPCB receives “honorable mention” in the Zumtobel Group Award for Sustainability and Humanity in the Built Environment (Austria). Husos work has been largely published in different printed media such as Domus, Abitare, 2G Dossier, Arquitectura Viva, Architekt, Hunch, Summa+, Project Russia, W for Waarsaw, Arch+, Zumtobel Group Award Publication, Synchronicity 1, Research for Research, Revista Architectos, El país, Semana, Caras, or El Mundo among others. Husos design, research and theoretical work has been featured at different international forums such as the 11th Architecture Venice Biennale in 2008, the International Architecture Biennale of Rotterdam in 2009, Fundación Tapies in Barcelona or Archilab in 2004.
